Many thanks again to all who have signed and shared this petition. We are now up to 310 signatures and we now need an additional 190 to reach the next goal.
There is some positive news to give out. Recently whilst browsing on the Wrexham Council website, I found that the current application for building affordable houses on the Former Air Products site has been withdrawn. The trackbed appears to be safe for now, however this may not be the end of the matter since the current developers still acquire the land and they might make a modified planning application in the future.
Therefore, we need to keep going with the petition and keep plugging away, gaining more support signatures. The more support we receive, the more likely we will get Wrexham Council to safeguard the trackbed to enable the future mainline reconnection so please keep on signing and sharing.
I also recommend that you all email the petition to your local MPs to get additional support towards safeguarding and funding the railway`s future re-instatement.
