Manx Care Board to Resign!
The Issue
Manx Care Act 2021
4(1)Without prejudice to the following provisions of this Act, the Department must continue to promote in the Island a comprehensive health and social care service to secure improvement in -
(a) the physical and mental health of people in the Island;
(b) the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of physical and mental illness;
(c) the provision of social care servcies for people in the Island.
5(1)The Department must exercise its functions with a view to securing continuous improvement in the outcome of services provided to individuals for or in connection with the following -
(a) the prevention, diagnosis or treatment of illness;
(b) the protection or improvement of public health;
(c) the assessment and provision of social care services,
and in doing so muct, in particular, have regard to principles of generally accepted evidence-based practice.
(2)Those outsomes include, in particular, outcomes which show -
(a) the effectivenness of the services;
(b) the safety of the services; and
(c) the quality of the services.
These two sections within the Manx Care Act 2021 I feel have been breached by the Board of Dirctors of Manx Care.
Manx Care Chair: Wendy Reid
Manx Care CEO: Teresa Cope
Interim Executive Director of Nursin and Allied Health Professionals: Shelia Lloyd
Director of Finance, Perfomance and Delivery: Jackie Lawless Executive Medical Director: Dr Marina Hudson
Executive Director of Social Care, Mental Health and Safeguarding: Tim O'Neill
Executive Director of Health Services: Oliver Radford
These are the voting members that voted to temporary suspend elective operations contrary to section 4 and 5 above of the Manx Care Act 2021 to promote comprehensive health services and improvements.
These are the voting members who decided to stop all non-urgent care needs in Liverpool and caused harm to a 12 year old who was initially refused treatment because of this vote.
Safeguarding - who needs that?
Mental Health - what is that?
Prevention, diagnosis or treatment of illness - only if you tick the box!
The Manx People deserve better than an Island that is mis-managing the finances, the people and the public.
Manx Care has breached the Manx Care Act 2021 and therefore, the board of directors should step down affective immediately.
