On August 7th, 2022, I lost my dear kitty, Mandy.

It was sudden and without warning. After finding out that her regular food was suddenly being discontinued, I started the difficult search for a new food. I tried a well-known, supposedly great food. She stopped eating after I fed her a small amount of it. Then she started refusing to eat at all. She died about a week later. She seemed healthy prior to this. I contacted the pet food company about the food and asked about the possibility of the food being contaminated from the packaging. They said that their Quality Control Department would be contacting me, but they never did.

I came across an article a couple of weeks ago, talking about a study done by the Environmental Working Group (EWG), on their findings of PFAs being found in pet food. The packaging of the dry pet foods was contaminating the food with PFAs from the packaging! At least several brands were found to have high concentrations of these "Forever Chemicals." Even with these findings, the Pet Food Manufacturers appear to be ignoring this. These chemicals can also be shed into the environment where they can affect humans by contamination. I will be submitting this petition to the FDA and pertinent Legislators to demand that they take this seriously, for pet and human safety, and that they would ban the use of PFAs in pet food packaging.
