How dare they make commodities out of our children’s needs….making similarities between our children’s care needs and business as usual…how crass are provider mentalities?

Talking to a person high up from the NSW Quality and safety commission…I said to the one looking at James’s case – you know James was suspended, (James is not an employee or a school student to be suspended!) WE pay the provider with NDIS funds for his care and services and his services were cut off after he was injured - and he is the victim!! whereas the workers should have been suspended and removed…at which the local MP had also expressed shock that my son was punished...for being the victim, after he was hurt severely in a providers ‘care’ and no explanations given…oh that’s right the workers felt uncomfortable because I was upset…spare me…my son felt uncomfortable when he received the trauma to the arm with either one big hit or repeated punches…as the doctor was described on examining James.

…well said the commission person regarding the suspension it depends on the contract if that was coming to an end this is a business and just like goods and services they can suspend services any time…   

My son is not a product I said to him and if nothing is done about this I will be going to the media – he hurriedly said polite goodbyes

It struck me later that if a shop person since this is a business, hit one of the customers they would actually get sacked and be in a lot of trouble, the police would be called and an assault charge possibly made…

Similarly, if one customer in the shop hit another customer the police would be called and they would take action not just get their notebooks out and do nothing?

On the other hand, Shops have cctv cameras they can use to see what happened and we the parents of vulnerable children who many times are nonverbal and cannot defend themselves are denied the protection of our children - I realize now that no matter what the support workers and managers say, they will let my son get hurt in their organizations and knowing he cannot say anything, they will cover it up no matter how nice they will appear to the parent. Mandatory reporting is disregarded in the effort to cover everything up – how sad – corporate deviance used every time. They truly are wolves. Making our children someone to make money out of they bully parents even the therapists will bully parents because when it comes to money and the extreme love of it all bets are off and the disability person is disregarded and what they need according to how much money the therapist can make. One therapist got angry because I wouldn’t show them the amounts of James plan funds - I need to see it she said – no I said it is private. She was never the same. Shame on the therapists who only see our children as a way to fill their coffers. They plot and plan and are no better than the organizations making money from the services they then fail to give properly and fail to protect our children and in the end do not care. Body cameras and labels then seem to be the way to go as groups are just there to make money for those involved and nothing else matters.

It starts at the top of course and Stuart Robert has always disregarded what our children needed including protection saying protocols and educating providers is the way to go, however the providers remain uneducated and dumb in response to those who are harmed or die in care. For shame why should our children be harmed and even die because they want to get paid for their job regardless?  

Now Stuart Robert is no longer in charge of NDIS the new lady Linda Reynold seems just  as hard hearted as he was – he was military and she was defence - why do they put people in charge of guns and hurting others in charge of vulnerable people with disabilities? What kind of match is that? It’s a mismatch… 

   the new MP in charge couldn’t even show compassion to her own staffer who was allegedly raped in her the mp’s office – where is her heart – just another corporate politician out to make money? Now this MP runs NDIS God help our children and we the parents trying to give our children a decent life with human rights not ignored not trampled on…because we actually value our children even if the disability services do not.   

Providers say one thing and do another and deviancy rues that day! We the parents must call out those who lie cheat and steal and are fraudulent with our disability even adult children’s funds. WE the parents and those with a conscience, must stand up and fight, and be the voice our children do not have in this society, and we must stand up and call wrong behavior of providers out in the face of violence that occurs and in disabilities and lies. While we have the chance as one day we will not be here to protect them at all.

 We need the CCTV cameras and we need stronger laws that make it possible to prosecute carers for hurting our children or neglecting them even unto death as has happened to some who parents now barely manage to face getting through the day. We must not allow gross injustice to keep happening and remaining silent is condoning evil or is as bad as the lies that flow easily from providers.
