Hi all, I just wanted to reach out to let you know we’ve just passed 7,136 signatures on our petition! Thank you so much for your support! Will you help me to get more support by sharing this petition with ten other people? If enough of us sign we can’t be ignored! Here’s a link to share https://www.change.org/p/new-stronger-protection-laws-and-cameras-for-vulnerable-disability-children-and-adults-in-places-of-care-and-day-programs

The need for cameras is urgent only this week my son was hurt and harmed again and then it was lied about...yet he bares bruises that started as fingerprints....denying any knowledge and saying that the other clients did not do it...yet someone had done this and I suspect a worker who thought the bruises would not show...

Disabilities can have cameras if they wish to in their public areas but they all do not do it because they would be caught...its not about privacy its about not being sued or caught.  Privacy is an excuse and our children remain vulnerable and unprotected without cameras.   I have recommended to the royal commission whom I sent the first incident to the need for CCTV cameras to be made mandatory in day programmes, respite and any places of disability care, and body cams on our children especially when they are non  verbal.   If providers keep lying and covering up what the truth is and incidents of harm and we have no evidence then we need to step up and make them accountable.

all the best Anndrea
