Hello Friends,
Results of your continued support to demand warning label on High Fat Sugar or Salt (HFSS) food products are bearing fruits. I want to share an encouraging update on our campaign.
First, on 10 Feb 2026, the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India has directed the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) to move forward on front-of-pack labelling, recognising the importance of giving consumers clear and honest information about foods high in sugar, salt and unhealthy fats. The Court has asked FSSAI to return in 4 weeks after due consideration.
Second, the Government of India’s Economic Survey 25-26 has also highlighted the growing burden of diet-related diseases and the role of HFSS and ultra-processed foods in India’s changing diets and called for warning labels on pre-packaged food products.
This acknowledgement at the highest policy level is significant.
These 2 developments suggest that India may be closer than ever to adopting meaningful front-of-pack warning labels.
Your continued support is essential .
Take Action:
If you can send a short email to Sh. JP Nadda, Union Health Minister or post a comment on his twitter handle, or both; with a request to ensure mandatory warning labels on HFSS food products, that will add support to SC order.
JP Nadda's email: min-hfm@gov.in

Thank you for standing up.
Please do share this news with 5 friends !
