Mandate ULHT to report adverse reactions to the MHRA
The Issue
Sharon Plummer was a vibrant and healthy 39-year-old woman, a new mother who had just given birth in December 2022 to our beautiful daughter, Jemima. Tragically, in September 2023, just nine months postpartum, Sharon was diagnosed with stage-4 colorectal cancer, which had already metastasized to her liver and ovaries. A mere 31 days after her diagnosis, Sharon passed away, leaving our little Jemima motherless. The gravity of this situation is devastating, not just for our family but for the broader community.
However, what is even more alarming is the fact that Sharon’s tumour sequencing revealed a shocking 3,319 matches to the Pfizer manufacturing plasmid (OR134577.1) along with multiple SV40 promoter reads. Despite this substantial evidence, the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) refuses to submit a Yellow Card report to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to recognise this as a suspected adverse reaction. This refusal comes amidst a worrying 171.4% increase in postpartum colorectal cancer cases in Lincolnshire since 2021.
The Yellow Card scheme is crucial for monitoring drug safety in the UK. It allows healthcare professionals and patients to report suspected side effects from medicines, ensuring the safety and efficacy of treatments millions rely upon. By refusing to file a Yellow Card, ULHT is not only neglecting their duty to Sharon and Jemima but also potentially jeopardising the health and safety of others who might be at risk.
This petition demands that the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust take immediate responsibility by filing a Yellow Card report in Sharon’s case. It is imperative that we bring attention to this potential link between the Pfizer plasmid and the surge in postpartum cancer cases, and ensure that thorough investigations are conducted.
Our family has lost a beloved wife and mother far too soon, and as Sharon's husband, I refuse to allow her death to be in vain. I urge all who read this to stand with us and advocate for transparency, accountability, and justice for Sharon, Jemima, and countless others who may be affected. We deserve answers, and Jemima deserves to grow up knowing the truth about her mother’s passing.
Please sign this petition to ensure that the ULHT fulfills its ethical responsibility by reporting this case to the MHRA. Your signature can help bring about justice and potentially save lives in the future. Together, we can demand accountability and push for meaningful change.
