Mandate Transparency &Prompt replacement of defective MedSupplies from Dexcom manfacturers
The Issue
I am writing this petition out of a deeply personal and terrifying experience faced as the caregiver of an elderly Type 1 Diabetic. Twice, my loved one has faced life-threatening hypoglycemia events due to an absence of vital supplies. Despite weeks of tireless attempts, our requests for the crucial diabetes sensor were constantly stalled. We offered to pay for overnight shipping, yet the indefinite delay and lack of transparency from Dexcom Corporation's customer service and fulfillment teams made it impossible for us to get the supplies on time.
Diabetes affects an estimated 422 million people worldwide according to the World Health Organization, with a significant number being elderly adults. Without the necessary supplies like glucose sensors, these patients risk severe hypoglycemia events. This battle is not solely ours; millions worldwide face similar challenges.
Our demand is simple and necessary: mandatory transparency from life-saving medical supplies manufacturers like Dexcom Corporation. Companies should provide accessible information about their customer service, fulfillment teams, distribution centres, and managers. Additionally, provision for expedited shipping in cases of urgency, especially when there is a device or sensor malfunction, should be non-negotiable.
We need these companies to realize that they are not dealing with mere 'orders,' but with lives at stake. We urge lawmakers and health regulatory bodies to enforce these rules to protect patients who depend on these life-saving supplies. We cannot afford to suffer at the hands of administrative inefficiency when delaying a shipment can mean life or death.
Stand with us in this fight for transparency and efficiency. Join us in demanding that medical manufacturers prioritize patient lives and safety over administrative convenience. Please sign this petition.
