Mandate Thorough Investigation of Fentanyl Poisoning Deaths in California
The Issue
We lost our son in October2021 to fentanyl poisoning. He was 31 years old, a brother, a cousin, uncle, nephew, grandson, and a best friend. He was a dad of 5 huskies. When i got the news i knew at that moment this was no accident my son was not a drug user. That was the moment my life had changed,Shattered. There are no words to describe the pain. Not only did this person give him fentanyl and kill him, they also robbed him afterward. They came back to his home and robbed him some more even stealing his car knowing he lay there lifeless; never calling for help but continuing their horrible crime. No one is in jail at this time as they should be. My son worked hard everyday at his job as close to 7 years he was promoted just the day before he was poisoned with fentanyl. On his days off he loved to go fishing, take his dogs to the snow . Michael loved the outdoors and nature. He was a die hard Sacramento Kings,San Francisco 49ers fan big time!! Enjoyed going to their games.Anyone who knew Michael fell in love with him his amazing laugh, his aura, his friendship Michael was my jewel,my sunshine my everything always thinking of helping others. Michael was golden and always will be. Michael matters. He should be here
Our justice system needs change. Our laws must require that all fentanyl poisoning deaths be thoroughly investigated in California. When a coroner rules a death as accidental, it should not stop the investigation. When someone gives this poison to another person and it kills them, it must be treated as a drug homicide.
We need justice for our son and others who have fallen victim to such heinous acts. Please sign this petition to demand changes in how these cases are handled by law enforcement and the judicial system! Justice for Michael Nall Wilson
