Mandate Support for Neglected Students at Lincoln Park

Mandate Support for Neglected Students at Lincoln Park
The Issue
The graduating class of 2027 at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School has faced incredible challenges, not just academically but emotionally. Multiple teachers, unfit for their roles, have outwardly harmed students’ mental well-being and impacted their grades negatively. Students have frequently felt discouraged from growing and truly understanding the material due to neglect and lack of proper guidance from untrained staff.
Recent studies show that supportive educational environments are key to student success. For example, a study from the American Psychological Association highlights that a nurturing school environment leads to higher academic performance and better mental health for students. Unfortunately, Lincoln Park has failed to provide this environment to many of its students and even defends these bad actors.
To rectify this, we must insist that Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School implements concrete and immediate measures to support students who have been affected by this neglect. This includes hiring properly trained educators and providing professional development resources for current staff to better meet students’ academic and emotional needs.
Providing a strong support system for students is not just a necessity but a responsibility. It is time for Lincoln Park to take this responsibility seriously. Let's ensure that all students, especially the class of 2027, receive the education experience they deserve—one that fosters understanding, growth, and well-being.
We urge the leadership at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School to take immediate action to bring about these necessary changes. By signing this petition, you are supporting a brighter future for the students that have been academically and verbally neglected, ensuring they thrive in a more supportive and understanding educational environment.
