My heart goes out to the family of the 95-year-old woman in aged care, who became Australia's second death related to coronavirus. This woman, may she rest in peace, died after coming into contact with an aged-care worker who contracted coronavirus despite not travelling overseas.

Can you pick up the phone and call NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard, and ask him to do all he can to protect people in aged care from coronavirus?

This is a heartbreaking scenario, and we don't know much more beyond that. But we do know our beloved elderly family members in aged care are more vulnerable to sickness and completely dependent on staff.

What measures are being taken as coronavirus panic spreads across workplaces, airports, and health facilities? Right now, can you pick up the phone and respectfully ask NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard to do more for aged care residents and workers during the coronavirus outbreak?

Here's a script you can use:

Hello, my name is [NAME] I'm calling as one of 346,000 people who have signed a petition calling for mandated staff ratios in aged care facilities. I am extremely concerned by the news of a coronavirus death in NSW age care, and I am calling on Minister Hazzard to do all he can to protect residents and staff during the coronavirus outbreak. What measures is Minister Hazzard taking to protect our vulnerable elderly? Thank you

Please, if you had a spare few minutes, can you pick up the phone and make yourself heard? Our beloved elders need us. Can't call? Please, keep sharing this petition.

Jane
