Can you imagine applying for a government grant, they give you the money and instead of using for the intended purpose you just pocket it or spend it on whatever you like and never have to account for it to the government? That’s what happens when the government funds aged care.

They don’t have to account for a penny of the taxpayer funds. I know, it’s unbelievable but what’s more unbelievable is politicians are happy about that and voted against a transparency bill in December. So now aged care providers can still spend the money on whatever they like

One thing is clear: taxpayer funding is not being spent on staffing and with dangerously low ratios this leads to neglect and abuse.

We desperately need more skilled staff to take care of the residents in aged care around the country. We need funding spent on staff, and by signing and sharing the petition we can hope for a brighter future for residents of aged care.
