As an adult thriving in life, yet grappling with the silent condition of epilepsy. A member within the community of millions of Americans, myself included.

Epilepsy, much like an iceberg, doesn't reveal its full spectrum unless you live it or deal firsthand with it. When individuals with epilepsy experience a seizure, many bystanders are unsure how to respond. Many unknowing of the proper actions to take. There's a prevalent misunderstanding about how to react to such incidents - and that can mean the difference between life and death. 

As citizens of New York State, we need to change this. Every effort to increase public knowledge about seizure first aide can save a life. Therefore, I'm asking that the state government mandate all businesses to have a Seizure First Aide Poster prominently displayed. This way, every customer and employee will know the correct steps to take when they encounter someone having a seizure.

Living with epilepsy, I know the importance of this first hand, and now it's time for everyone in our community to share in this essential knowledge.
