The Prime Minister's Office has suggested that PM Carney is planning on visiting the Governor General tomorrow morning- the obvious speculation in the media is to dissolve Parliament and call an election.  I'm torn on the idea- he has momentum.  According to the Liberal website,  as of today, out of 343 seats for this election, the Liberals only have 161 candidates. The date mentioned for the actual Election is the end of April.

All the parties don't have their entire slate of candidates picked yet- so I'm sure there are a lot of ridings that will be holding nomination meets over the next few days- or the Party Leaders will be appointing candidates- Each of the parties have their vetting processes, which includes credit checks, local police checks - a quick scan on social media and of course Google check to make sure there isn't a Charles Manson running for their party- however there is no time for all the parties to proper vet each of the candidates- so expect some candidates to be named- then as things are discovered their party will remove them as a Candidate- or they suddenly have pressing family issues and they have to withdraw from the race.  This is a perfect time for a foreign government or billionaire to suggest someone should run and not worry about the financing- they can help with that because they believe in the candidate- and of course, with no strings attached- and of course, there are ways of making sure that the individuals donating are legally able to donate to a Canadian campaign.

On a positive note, if CSIS/RCMP or friendly intelligence agencies from allies discover something about a potential threat to Canada with a foreign government or other players- FOUR (Liberal, NDP, Green, Bloc Québécois) of the FIVE leaders all have TOP SECRET Security Clearance so they can be briefed on any risks within their party or a candidate running under their banner.    Of course, the one missing is the Conservative Party's Leader, Pierre Poilievre.  Remember up to a few weeks ago- he was considered a shoe-in for the PM Position- not so much now with Mark Carney and his leadership style- there is a very good chance Carney will win- although he hasn't even announced what Riding he will run.  Some suggest around Edmonton- some think he may run the town where he was born - Fort Smith NWT, where the present Liberal MP- Michael McLeod, is retiring in the Federal Riding of NorthWest Territories. If he decides to run in the NWT Riding and wins the seat- and remains as PM- It would be the first time in Canadian history a PM was elected from a riding from the far north.  Regardless of where he runs, the Liberal party will want to ensure it's a safe seat for the new leader- by all signs, there would be a strong chance of him winning in either Edmonton or the NWT.

Today, we reached 100 people who signed the petition. I personally believe we should continue to pressure the Conservative leader to get the clearance because his party will be a target. Remember what I said about how much it would cost to win 40 or 50 key ridings across the country? It's enough to guarantee a Conservative win.  And again- it is possible some of them may be supported either knowingly or not knowing by agents for those who threaten Canada's security- and if it's discovered after the election, all Poilievre would say is he 'didn't know.'  The question is, would Canadians know? Would we be told- if it meant he would lose the majority in the House of Commons?

Let's keep the pressure up to ensure Canadians know—and, more importantly, that those who may do us harm realize we are watching.

On that note- I'm pleasantly surprised by the cross-section of the country we have received support from  From Alert Bay BC, to Calgary and Edmonton, Cranbrook and Vancouver, Grande Prairie to Etobicoke to Halifax, Hamilton, Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City (a special thank you to the French people who signed- even after reading my bad French), Nanaimo, Oshawa, Saskatoon, Winnipeg,  Corner Brook, Charlottetown and of course Gander (I hear that's a great place to get stuck for a few days). We even had a few from outside the country- in NYC, Melbourne Australia, and Japan.

Keep getting your friends to sign up and keep getting the word out there. We must keep the pressure on all the party leaders and parties to ensure they do a good job of vetting- especially the Conservative Party. I never intended this to be political. Regardless of which party had a leader refusing to have a security clearance, I assure each and every one of you that I would be just as vocal. This is not about who wins/loses—this is about the security and future of Canada.  There is too much at risk.

Thanks- I will be in touch- keep up the great work.
