Thank you for your invaluable support. However, we are in a race against time. The urgency of the situation demands that we garner as much exposure and as many signatures as possible as quickly as possible. We need to show momentum.  

Emails are being sent to the leaders of the NDP, Green, Bloc, and, yes, the PC, asking them to hold off on forcing a non-confidence vote until this proposed legislation has a chance to become law. Even if the Conservative Party calls for a non-confidence vote, it won't mean much if the other opposition parties don't vote for the motion.

Here's the issue: Parliament is set to return to the House of Commons on Monday, March 24th.  We have less than SIX DAYS to make our voices heard.

A fax is being sent to the Prime Minister this evening asking him to hold off on dissolving Parliament for the abovementioned reasons.

There is speculation that PM Carney will beat the opposition parties to the punch by not allowing them to hold a non-confidence vote. He will do this by visiting the Governor General and asking her to dissolve Parliament. This could happen sometime between Thursday and Sunday. 

Copies of the emails and the fax are being sent to each of the leaders' home constituencies and national media outlets overnight.  

Your role is pivotal. Please reach out to every Canadian who cares about their country and ask them to sign the petition. Share the petition on social media using the links on the site. Send emails and phone people—we need signatures. Starting tomorrow, the petition will receive a lot of security from the media and possibly from those who don't want all the leaders to have clearance (think about that).

Starting on Thursday, we may need to move to the next stage, which is contacting the leaders directly (if we need to do that, I will forward their email addresses tomorrow evening). We will also need to contact all of our local MPs, regardless of their political leanings and tell them you don't want Parliament dissolved until ALL PARTY LEADERS have the appropriate security clearances.
