Full update

Hello supporters,

Firstly, I want to thank all 358 of you for supporting this petition. Whether we spoke personally, you or your child has been hit, someone you know has, or you've lost a golf ball near the playground, your time and effort is appreciated!

We received an update from Councilmember Whitburn's office that there are a couple of solutions in motion addressing these safety concerns.

Firstly, there are plans for repairs to the fence for this calendar year. I've sent clarifying questions about those repairs, asking if they will be also installing higher fencing or netting as a temporary solution.

The more substantial update is that according to the Golf division
"The Balboa Park 9-Hole Improvement project, which is currently in the design phase, will address these safety concerns by splitting the 5th hole into two par 3s, which will redirect shots away from the playground. At this time, I do not have a construction timeline, but I will be sure to share it with you when we do.”

I've requested more information on the most effective way to continue to raise our concerns, as these plans come to fruition, and will share another update when I have more information.

Thank you all again for your support, please continue to spread the word and help secure more signatures!
