Education is the foundation of a modern society, and teachers play a vital role in developing young minds. Students gain knowledge, develop critical thinking skills, and eventually prepare themselves for a successful future because of their dedication, expertise, and passion. However, in order to assure educational quality, an adequate assessment system must be in place to assess the performance of our renowned instructors.

Unfortunately, evaluating teachers in our country is somehow rare and deemed as "disrespectful". Mostly, only the students were the ones who are being evaluated by the teachers, and that is truly unjust for all students due to the reason that teachers have the free will to “judge” a student based on their behavior and grades, while students couldn't do the same.

If teachers were given the rights to evaluate and assess students' performances, why can't students do the same practices in order to improve and create a safe learning space and better education system that our country never had. 

The following are the reasons as to why our country need a proper teacher evaluation:

1. To know how the students feel about the teacher's way of teaching and handling the class.

2. To assess and determine that teaching and learning are mutually helpful for both teachers and students.

3. To help schools in preventing child abuse and exploitation.

4. To evaluate the teacher's knowledge regarding teaching and determine the way their lessons are effective. 

5. To encourage equality and fairness between students and teachers.

The lack of compassion with teaching may result to teachers influencing their pupils in a negative manner. In some cases, due to their lack of compassion, teachers tend to not teach in an innovative and effective way which is a serious problem because that will greatly affect the student's academic performance and learning.  To add on that, the students' level of competency may not improve due to a single misconduct that a teacher does.

Also, there are circumstances in which students were abused verbally and non-verbally by their teachers. Through mandating proper teacher evaluation, not only the schools but also, the government will able to protect every students' rights and safety, and most especially, mitigate the increasing crime cases and misconducts that occurs within schools. 

Our team is humbly requesting for your support to help us in our ambition of improving the quality of our education system through imposing proper teacher quality assessment, and empower every students by allowing them to exercise their rights in giving their insights regarding the quality of education they receive. 

With these signed petitions, it will greatly support and help our team to be able to submit petition or a bill to the Department of Education, as well as, Senate of the Philippines regarding on mandating proper teachers' evaluation in schools.
