As a concerned parent and spouse of a cancer survivor, I implore concerned citizens to support this petition. My children go to school near a proposed construction site located within the historical sludge dump areas in Menifee. My husband battled stage 4 Pure Choriocarcinoma Testicular Cancer, and I have firsthand knowledge of the devastating impacts this disease can have on families. With the proposed construction, the health risks for my family and others in the community escalate significantly if the authorities fail to follow proper environmental checks, especially considering recent research by the EPA on the dangers of toxic sludge sites and forever chemicals.

It's crucial that the City of Menifee mandates Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and Environmental Impact Report (EIRs) before any construction begins. The results of these tests should be made public to ensure transparency and confidence. Only through these precautions can we be certain that our health is not being put at risk by potential contamination from the old dump sites. With increasing urbanization, these assays become even more vital for protecting the health of our community.
