Mandate landlords police & councils to address tenant noise complaints immediately
The Issue
URGENT....Living in a rented property should be a place of peace and refuge, but for many, it has become a source of distress This is my story, one that I hope will resonate with countless others who feel trapped in their living situations due to constant noise. My mental health has deteriorated to the point where I can't eat, sleep, or even relax in my own home. The constant barrage of noise has made me feel utterly helpless, and in my darkest moments, I've harmed myself because I can't cope anymore I hate coming home I don't even think of it as a home anymore
This isn't just about me. Everyone deserves a quiet environment, a place where they can unwind after a long day. But for those living in rented accommodations, the noise made by landlords or fellow tenants in separate properties can often make this impossible. We need landlords to take responsibility for the noise made by themselves and their tenants to ensure everyone can have the quiet, comfortable life they deserve.
Furthermore, we need councils and police to be empowered to offer immediate help & solutions when noise complaints are made. Current systems often drag on, leaving tenants to suffer while they wait for resolution. after form filling for weeks before the council put noise equipment in & 9 /10 the noise equipment fails More power must be given to authorities to intervene quickly and effectively, reducing the time tenants are subjected to unnecessary stress anxiety and discomfort.
Here are some steps that can be taken:
1. Legislate that landlords are responsible for addressing all noise complaints involving their premises.
2. Encourage councils and police to develop rapid-response teams specifically for addressing noise disturbances. ( At present there is none)
3. Implement mandatory soundproofing measures for new rental properties to minimize noise pollution.
4. Increase penalties for landlords who fail to address noise complaints in a timely manner. Most of the time fellow landlords do NOTHING
Sign this petition to demand LAW CHANGING action from local governments, landlords, and law enforcement to create a more peaceful environment for renters everywhere. We need change, and we need it now. Our mental health and quality of life depend on it. Together, we can push for a legislative reform that ensures peaceful living conditions for all.
Please sign this petition if you believe in the right to a quiet and stress-free home. Your support could lead to much-needed improvements for renters in need EVERYWHERE thankyou.
