Mandate Labels on Store-Purchased Flowers for Pet Safety

Mandate Labels on Store-Purchased Flowers for Pet Safety
The Issue
Millions of flowers are sold every day globally, many of which could be potentially harmful to our beloved pets if ingested. It is surprising to learn that no law or regulation exists to inform consumers if the flowers they purchase from stores are safe or not for their pets.
A large number of common decorative plants such as lilies, tulips and azaleas are known to be highly toxic to pets if ingested and in some cases even with direct contact to the pollen, yet many pet owners are unaware of this danger.
For example: The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals commonly receives calls related to pet poisoning from plants, clearly indicating there's a general lack of knowledge on the issue.
By mandating labels on store-purchased flowers signifying whether they are safe for pets or not, we can massively decrease instances of pet poisoning and indisposition due to accidental ingestion. This simple yet crucial step can ensure the safety of millions of pets worldwide.
Knowledge is power. Let's empower everyone. I urge legislatures and appropriate government agencies to enact the necessary laws requiring all store-bought flowers to bear labels indicating their pets' safety. It's our responsibility to ensure that our homes are safe environments for all of its residents, including our pets. Please sign this petition and help us work towards a safer world for our furry friends.
