समस्या

Growing up in India, I have always envisioned a country where leaders are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate complex issues, craft meaningful legislation, and steer the nation towards progress. However, as the years have gone by, my concern about the future of India has deepened. I have observed that many of our political leaders do not possess the educational qualifications required to fully understand and mitigate the myriad challenges our nation faces today. This gap in expertise often leads to misguided policies and mismanagement of crucial sectors, affecting millions of Indians.

India is a vibrant democracy, home to over 1.3 billion people, with one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. Yet, despite its potential, it lags behind in many areas due to inefficient governance. In comparison, civil servants are required to pass rigorous examinations, such as the UPSC/IAS, ensuring they possess the requisite knowledge and skills. But elected officials, those who make the laws, are not held to the same standard. This inconsistency undermines the effectiveness of our democratic institutions.

I propose that it be mandatory for all politicians in India to have at least a postgraduate degree and to pass an exam similar to the UPSC/IAS before they can hold office. By enforcing these requirements, we can ensure that our leaders are not only well-educated but also capable of critical thinking, effective decision-making, and strategic planning.

The examination should cover key areas such as political science, economics, public administration, and ethics, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of governance. Implementing this change would not only elevate the quality of leadership but also restore public trust in our political system.

I understand that education alone does not guarantee integrity or wisdom, but it is a substantial step towards creating a robust leadership foundation. With today's rapidly changing global landscape, having leaders who are informed and competent is vital for India's progress and prosperity.

Let us strive to build a nation led by qualified individuals who can truly embody the vision of a successful, progressive India. Sign this petition to urge the Indian government to mandate higher education and qualifying exams for all politicians. Your support is crucial for shaping a brighter future for our beloved country.
