The ability to afford life essentials should not be a privilege, it should be a right for every child.

It is about time the UK government reviews and reformulates these laws. It's time to make refusing to pay child support a criminal offense. There are reportedly 1.8 million single parents in the UK facing similar struggles - this equates to almost a quarter of all families with dependent children (Gingerbread, 2019). This is a systemic problem that requires urgent attention.
