Mandate Comprehensive Fentanyl Education in Texas Schools

Mandate Comprehensive Fentanyl Education in Texas Schools
The Issue
Stefanie Turner, founder of Texas Against Fentanyl (TXAF), knows first-hand the devastating impact fentanyl can have.
After losing her son Tucker to fentanyl poisoning at the mere age of 19, she has been tirelessly advocating for wide-scale preventive measures, pushing for the importance of fentanyl education. Despite the success of Tucker’s Law (HB 3908), requiring schools to educate students from grade 6 through 12 about fentanyl, there is a common trend towards minimal compliance among schools.
This simply is not enough. Our children's lives are at stake — every week, we are losing a classroom full of children aged 14-18 to fentanyl. It's deeply alarming that fentanyl, a drug 100 times more potent than morphine, is taking our young individuals' lives with this severity (National Institute on Drug Abuse). Let us capitalize on the power we own as parents, as PTA members, and as responsible citizens, to protect our children. We urge you to sign this petition to put pressure on local school districts and state officials to reinforce comprehensive fentanyl education across all schools in Texas. Stefanie's fight is our fight. No parent should have to endure the grief of losing their child. By enhancing the fentanyl education program in schools, we can take a significant step towards preventing avoidable tragedies. Sign the petition today to save lives in our Texas communities.
Fentanyl is the leading cause of death for those 50 and under and it’s taking adolescents at an alarming rate…. STAND WITH US because we are stronger together!!!!
