The Williamtown RAAF Base has been contaminating their local community since 1980 with Toxic Chemicals - PFOS, PFOA, PFAS which are still coming off the base into our water and they refuse to stop it. They are also doing upgrades to the defence base which makes these chemicals air bourne. Because the defence has contaminated our water ways with Toxic Chemicals the Fishes have lost their jobs! Our properties are now worth $0.00.  We also have high levels of these toxic chemicals in our blood - they are cancerous, interrupt hormones and growth, reduces the effectiveness of immunisation of our children just to name a few. The Australian Government has allowed Defence to dictate how they will handle this toxic mess! - Defences answer is to use a 2008 German report raising the safe levels of these toxins to the highest levels in the WORLD, they are 78 times higher then the new lifetime safe limit of the U.S. That way Defence is no longer liable. This is happening around every Defence base in Australia! MAKE DEFENCE ACCOUTABLE - ADOPT THE U.S. SAFE LIFE TIME LIMIT 0.07ppb! and acknowledge the health impacts!
