On this our special day, I sincerely thank each and every one of you, who support my campaign to Make Windrush Day a Public Bank Holiday in the UK. Our beautiful community of supporters has grown to over 35,600 signatures. A huge achievement, in what has been a year of me starting this petition.

I will be joining an online event today at 2pm, entitled Stories of the Windrush Children, hosted by Dr Benjamin Zephaniah on the British Library Platform. I will of course snap the opportunity to promote our petition, as we speed ahead to reach our next goal of 50,000 supporters. We Can Do This!!

I hope you all have a beautiful Windrush Day as you reflect on the legacy of the Windrush Generation. Their courage and influence is indeed visible in every part of our society across the UK. We are forever proud and grateful.
