IT’S TIME TO STOP ANONYMOUS ABUSE ONLINE — WITHOUT PUNISHING THOSE WHO NEED TO STAY PRIVATE.

Too many people are being bullied, harassed, and threatened online by fake or anonymous accounts that can’t be traced. There are no consequences for trolls, stalkers, or predators hiding behind private profiles — and it’s ruining lives.

This petition calls on the UK Government to pass a law requiring mandatory identity verification for all social media accounts, with an important safeguard:

✅ Your identity stays private to the public

👮 Only accessible to law enforcement if abuse, threats, or illegal activity is reported

This would mean:

❌ No more fake accounts created just to harass or stalk

❌ No more trolls who can’t be held accountable
✅ Police can finally act when real harm is done
✅ Vulnerable users (like whistleblowers, survivors, or LGBTQ+ users) can still post anonymously — but not abusively

We are not asking for public ID. We are asking for platforms to verify and securely store identity behind each account — only accessed when legally required.

If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear.
