The Issue

The New Online Safety Bill currently going through parliament will be in place once they finish their passage.  The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology is working closely with Ofcom to lay the groundwork for the laws to be enforced once they are introduced.

This can't come into effect quick enough. Social media continues to fail their users without repercussions. The platform Tiktok, that most of us use as a source of enjoyment, connectivity & support, became nothing but a painful reminder of loss due to a cruel & evil individual called Claire Matthews. Tiktok failed to stand by their own community guidelines and allowed this person to utilised pictures of my deceased child, conjuring up disturbing account names over and over again, to torment me for months and although reported multiple times, Tiktok stated they did not break community guidelines.

Many other grieving parents have been a victim of this person over the years, mocking their child loss, child disabilities and sufferers of mental health.
Given their responsibility and proclaimed commitment to combat online harassment, social media platforms owe their users the decency and safety they deserve however, continue to fail allowing hate speech and harassment is a gross violation of their own policies, yet instances like these are often overlooked.

The fight is not only for me or for those affected, it stands for those who may suffer the same fate in the future as Claire Matthews targets not only vulnerable adults but children.. yes children.

Claire finds the vulnerable, learns their weaknesses and tells children to unalive themselves for her own sick, depraved pleasure. Police have been made aware multiple times with evidence to support all reports however, she continues to have access to social media

Let us stand united, please sign this petition to implore the legal system & social media platforms to take decisive steps in preventing such despicable  actions to continue & remove Claire Matthews and people alike finally and permanently from access to social media.
