Kirton Lincolnshire has become a dangerous place to drive. This is due to speeding throughout the Village and cars parked dangerously and illegally.

A residents car was written off in a terrible accident at the junction of King Street and London Road in Kirton. This incident has highlighted the significant danger posed by this junction, primarily due to its poor visibility of oncoming traffic, due to parked cars. Many residents and motorists who frequently travel through this area share a growing concern that this junction is a precarious spot, urging the need for immediate corrective measures.

We propose converting the current junction into either a traffic light-controlled junction or installing a roundabout. Both these measures have proven effective in reducing accident rates and improving traffic flow. Implementing one of these solutions would not only enhance safety but also provide a long-term benefit for the village by ensuring smoother traffic management.

Similarly the junction of Kings Court and King Street is a hazardous junction due to poor visibility. There has also been an accident here. A simple solution would be a concave mirror to enable drivers to have a clear view of King Street and oncoming traffic.

There are many roads, in Kirton, with dangerously parked cars. As the village has evolved the roads have become increasingly hazardous.

The lack of proper traffic management exacerbates the risk, leaving drivers and pedestrians vulnerable to potential accidents. It is essential to prioritize the safety of our community members by addressing these safety issues with urgency. 

This is a call to the local council and the Highways department to take immediate action to address these hazardous junctions and to look at the village as a whole. By converting the junction at King Street into a traffic light-controlled junction or a roundabout and installing a mirror opposite Kings Court we can prevent further accidents and needless tragedies. By addressing the problem of illegally and dangerously parked cars we can improve road safety for everyone.
