As a senior citizen living on a fixed income, I am deeply concerned about the high cost of the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccine. The only seniors that are covered for the RSV vaccine are seniors who are in longterm care homes. For many seniors like myself, this vaccine is simply unaffordable at $300.00 per dose. In an economy where we often have to choose between medication and basic necessities such as food or rent, this price tag is prohibitive.

RSV poses a serious threat to seniors, especially during the fall season when it tends to be most prevalent. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), RSV leads to approximately 177,000 hospitalizations and 14,000 deaths among adults aged 65 years and older in the United States each year.

The Ministry of Health must take immediate action to make this life-saving vaccine affordable for all seniors. The health of our senior population should not be compromised due to financial constraints.

Please sign this petition urging our government officials in the Ministry of Health to subsidize or reduce the cost of RSV vaccines for seniors so that no one has to choose between their health and their daily needs.
