STOP PROCRASTINATING!!! Make the Jenkintown-Wyncote SEPTA station Wheelchair Accessible!
The Issue
The Jenkintown-Wyncote station is a major SEPTA Regional Rail station in Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It is the ninth-busiest station in the regional rail system, and the fourth busiest outside Center City, Philadelphia. The station was originally built in 1872 by the North-Pennsylvania Railroad and rebuilt in 1932 by the Reading Company is served by 4 Regional Rail lines. However, despite having high ridership, it is not wheelchair accessible.
Even though I am not physically disabled, I find that discriminatory, only because SEPTA announced plans to make the station wheelchair accessible by 2020, but they have made no progress in doing so by any means.
Unacceptable.
This station should be made wheelchair accessible with wheelchair ramps and a pedestrian crosswalk.
