Hello all,

A little update on the petition to make the Sussex St and Boundary Rd intersection safer.... It has been a while but the issue is still alive and relevant.

Anthony Cianflone, the State Labor Member of Parliament for Pascoe Vale has advised in writing that he has raised the matter of the intersection with Melissa Horne, the Minister of Roads and Road Safety and also with Merri-Bek Council. Both organisations have responded to his communications.

Merri-Bek Council has advised they have conducted a review of the crash data at the intersection and as a result will raise the matter with the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) at their next monthly meeting.

Melissa Horne has advised that the "DTP will work with Merri-bek City Council, which is responsible for managing traffic on Sussex Street, and investigate possible improvements that can be made at the intersection" however, "all upgrade initiatives are subject to budget availability following full analysis and prioritisation of proposals as part of future network planning".

I am grateful to Anthony for his representation of the matter to both Merri-Bek Council and the DTP.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the petition and I urge to you ask any friends or family who have not yet signed, to consider adding their signature to show support to the cause.

Natasa
