Make Supermarkets Delivery and Click & Collect Hubs only

Make Supermarkets Delivery and Click & Collect Hubs only
The Issue
Thank you in advance for reading this petition!
Firstly, we need to think seriously about closing the doors to the supermarkets for the public. Otherwise, we will continue to spread this awful virus.
People are visiting supermarkets too often and many are not going alone. This increases the opportunities for transmission.
Capacity is not enough currently for online orders/ deliveries, so priority is to make the supermarket websites accept more orders. On its own, this is not enough of course! Delivery driver recruitment will be required, or alternative ways of shopping (see below for click & collect option)
The aim of all of this is to assist with #SocialDistancing.
If you agree with me, please don't just sign it, but SHARE it also! If you don't, I would be very interested to find out
Our supermarkets need to be changed into delivery/'Click & Collect' hubs.
Supermarkets would effectively become warehouses. Packing can be done by staff doing this currently as well as all other vacant staff (eg checkout staff). The supermarket staff should also pack the vans (& cars - see below) to reduce contact with other individuals.
This can be achieved in one of 2 ways!
1. Through regular employment channels - or this is where we bring our military services/reserves. I feel we do have the opportunity here to bring in the military (not for martial law purposes) but to assist in this 'war' against this horrible virus—packing of vans would be done by the Supermarket.
Alternatively employ taxi companies/drivers to do this. The priority would be for the ones who cannot take advantage of click and collect (eg no car, or vulnerable)
We would need a total of approximately 150,000 delivery drivers to provide provisions for the entirety of the UK (one delivery per household per week) during this crisis! Please note: Current numbers of drivers are included in the above figure. I feel this would be the maximum requirement.
2. ‘Click & Collect’ Shopping - individuals (not families) go to Supermarkets / Food shops / Small rural shops/ —Supermarket/Shop staff would place food packages in the customer's (clean) car boot. Orders could be scanned through windows from App or Invoice!
There should be a timeslot per day (eg 8pm - 10pm) for ones who don't wish to order online, where they can order from their car and wait for their shopping to be packed. Payments can be made through contactless payment (through windows)or with cash.
Alternatively, 'Amazon Locker' style pick up points could be set up around the country / rural areas when people can pick up when convenient for them!
Anyone classed as vulnerable would receive a regular food package. Call centres would also be set up to assist anyone that is unable to access online shopping.
Stay safe everyone! x
