Every day, parents, teachers, and community members witness reckless speeding on South Union Street in Canton, MS, a critical area where Little Tots Learning Center, SR1 College Preparatory and STEM Academy, and several homes with school-aged children are located.

Despite clearly marked school zone signs, many drivers ignore the speed limit, creating an unsafe environment for our children. This area desperately needs speed bumps, increased police presence, and flashing school zone lights to slow down traffic and prevent potential accidents.

We, the undersigned, urge city officials to take immediate action by:

-Installing speed bumps to reduce speeding.
-Increasing police traffic enforcement during school and daycare hours.
-Adding flashing school zone lights and additional signage to improve visibility.

This issue affects parents, school staff, daycare workers, and residents who care about the safety of our children. Please join us in demanding that the Canton City Council and Mayor take action NOW before a tragedy occurs.
