Needless to say, the whole internet adores the Scooby Doo live action franchise, and is hungry for more. It has spawned meme after meme, and has a massive following of Scooby fans and nostalgic millennials & Gen Z alike. Given that we are in need of new Scooby media that pleases the fans, and Warner bros also understandably need to make bank, the best way forward is to create a third Scooby movie Starring Matthew Lillard, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Linda Cardellini. I believe the film should take the adult undertones further than the original James Gunn movies as the audience will be older, but still avoid betrayal of the source material. A PG-13 rating would be ideal for this, as kids could still see it and contribute to the box office results. It would be fertile ground to play with ideas such as Velma’s sexuality, and Shaggy’s obvious stoner behaviour, which is both beloved and constantly joked about by fans. I believe memes and the franchise’s cult following will produce a self sustaining financial ecosystem, allowing the film to be a box office hit, and a real crowd pleaser for Scooby fans.
