Make Samlesbury Woodlands Safe for Everyone
The Issue
Samlesbury Woodlands in Blackpool should be a peaceful place for people to walk, connect with nature, and heal. Instead, it has become a hotspot for sexual exposure and unsafe behaviour.
On 6th October 2025, I experienced sexual exposure in broad daylight while visiting the woodlands — an area already known locally for “dogging” and indecent acts. I’m not the first person this has happened to, and without action, I won’t be the last.
No one should have to fear being sexually harassed or exposed to while walking in nature. These acts rob people of their peace, safety, and confidence to enjoy public spaces.
I’m calling on Blackpool Council, Lancashire Police, and MP Chris Webb to:
1. Increase police presence in and around Samlesbury Woodlands.
2. Install improved lighting and security cameras where the cars park to access the woodland.
3. Acknowledge the area as a recurring sexual offence hotspot and take meaningful steps to protect the public.
Public spaces belong to everyone — not to those who use them for predatory behaviour. Let’s make Samlesbury Woodlands safe again for our whole community.
✍️ Please sign and share to help protect others from what I & others have gone through.
