The importance of PrEP cannot be overstated. According to Public Health England, over 103,000 people are living with HIV in the UK, and the availability of PrEP has the potential to drastically reduce these numbers.

Making PrEP available in all pharmacies, not just GUM clinics, eliminates these risks and barriers, providing a safer and more efficient means for individuals to obtain the medication. It also reinforces the value of every individual's right to choose and manage their own healthcare.

Access to PrEP through local pharmacies can be a game-changer in HIV prevention strategy in the UK. It ensures privacy, reduces stigma, and is a significant step towards ending new HIV transmissions by 2030, a target set by the UK government. Therefore, the time to act is now.
