Make Phagwa/Holi a Public Holiday in Trinidad and Tobago

Make Phagwa/Holi a Public Holiday in Trinidad and Tobago
The Issue
Phagwa/Holi is a significant, transnational and indeed famous Hindu festival celebrating Radha and Krishna and the victory of Vishnu as Narasimha over Hiranyakashipu commemorating good over evil. Approximately a quarter of the entire population of Trinidad and Tobago are of the Hindu fate. The recognition of Phagwa/Holi would bring more attention and national appreciation. Phagwa/Holi as a public holiday would boost local, regional and international tourism. Phagwa/Holi is a public holiday in neighboring Caribbean country Guyana.
