For over 25 years Peña Pachamama at 1630 Powell Street has been a gathering place for great world music and dance. SUKAY had been presenting Peña Pachamama at Fort Mason Center, at Cowell Theatre annually since 1990 until transforming this space into a magical, musical venue in the heart of San Francisco's tourist-happy North Beach neighborhood. The diversity of creative arts are what makes San Francisco unique. 

Peña Pachamama is in danger of losing this location which was built in 1911, housed one of San Francisco’s most important speakeasies and became one of the most beloved restaurants in the city where Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe had their wedding dinner. The Kennedys, Babe Ruth, Rocky Marciano, Gary Cooper, Dean Martin, Clark Gable and Carole Lombard were frequent guests. Losing Peña Pachamama would be the loss of a unique musical art space and organic plant-based restaurant/Latin peña in our City.
