🌟 Thank You, Community! 🌟

A huge thank you to everyone who has signed and shared our petition — your voices are being heard loud and clear!

Yesterday (15.08), I had the opportunity to speak with Alex Easton on ABC Breakfast Radio Sunshine Coast about our cause. If you missed it, — the interview starts at 2:07:14

I’ll admit, it was nerve-wracking to do the interview — I’m not a public figure — but I’ll do whatever it takes to get our story heard.

I also had a fantastic sit-down with our Councillor, David Law, to go over our petition and my action plan proposal for making our community safe and sustainable (pictured above). The plan was then submitted, along with our petition, to our Housing Minister, Sam O’Connor, who came to Nambour to tour and see firsthand what we are dealing with. As a result of this tour, action has been promised to help our community.

It’s been a huge, busy week meeting with many key stakeholders in our community and hearing your stories firsthand. I’m continuing to refine my plan with community input to ensure our future is safe and sustainable for everyone.

On a personal note, my kids have been unwell, and I’m feeling exhausted — but I’m pressing forward unfettered because our cause matters too much to slow down. I’m deeply hopeful for what could happen next, and I am so proud of our community. The passion, the commitment, and the solidarity you’ve shown is truly inspiring.

There are exciting meetings coming up, and I hope to have clearer updates for you by the end of next week. I’m also thrilled to share that our MP Marty Hunt will be submitting the petition for tabling to parliament as well. Marty has been working tirelessly to make Nambour a safe and beautiful place for us all. If you see him out and about, please take a moment to thank him for his hard work.

💙 Thank you for standing with me. Let’s keep pushing forward together!

Be safe and be kind this weekend,

Helen Tagg
