As a North Carolinian deeply concerned with the direction the United States is heading, the potential violent collapse of the nation and what that means for the people I hold dear terrifies me. The freedom to live peacefully is in jeopardy, which leads me to propose a proactive and radical solution: making North Carolina a protectorate of the United Kingdom while still upholding the 1st and 2nd Amendments of our current US constitution.

Our state has a population of nearly 10.5 million proud and freedom-loving inhabitants {source: US Census 2020}, we wish to charter our future based on a model of autonomy and British protection. This would safeguard us from potential violent conflicts the United States could engage in against UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or the European Union.

Furthermore, by maintaining the crucial aspects of the US Constitution, namely the 1st and 2nd Amendments, we ensure that the rights of North Carolinians - the freedom of speech and the right to bear arms - remain undiminished.

This unprecedented measure seeks to preserve liberty and peace for the people of North Carolina while charting a safe course during uncertain times. Our commitment is to the wellbeing of North Carolina and its people, and in this commitment, we appeal to the UK Parliament for consideration of our unique

proposal.
