Yesterday marked the second time Nelson Partners has canceled hundreds of leases for 800 block right before the start of the semester. Last year many students had to find last minute housing at great cost, some lived in their cars until they found housing. Starting last spring Nelson Partners launched a massive advertising campaign targeted at USU students stating "800 Block Promise" which read "We are committed to delivering on time: Fall 2022." Later a new promise appeared stating: "This is our commitment and promise to our community, the students at USU that we will have options provided in case we need to utilize assistance if we do not deliver on time."

They did not deliver on time, since it is impossible for Nelson Partners to honor their initial commitment, they must hold true to the second promise. Nelson Partners has permanently lost the respect of the USU community, now they must ensure that students do not pay excessive prices to find last minute housing or worse, go homeless.
