Electric vehicles are too silent. It should be mandatory that they make more noise, somewhat realistic to an engine. People as well as animals can't generally hear these vehicles and can result in injury and/or death. 

My poor cat was struck just today by an electric delivery van as he didnt know that the vehicle was about to set off, giving him no time to move or react. He was dead on impact. People who are blind or hard of hearing, as well as pets and wildlife ,are unable to hear, respond or react to these vehicles and sometimes are unfortunate enough to meet their end. 

It is important that these changes are made to protect the people of our streets and our beloved pets. Safety should be the top priority when manufacturing these vehicles, not just fully focusing on climate change.
