Make it law that child rapists never get out of prison to cause any further harm to others
The Issue
In the unforgiving waters of the Ryders Green Canal in the West Midlands, we lost someone irreplaceable. My relative, Chereiss Bailey, was brutally murdered by John Anslow, a man who should have never been free to roam our streets again. Chereiss was senselessly taken from us, stripped not only of her life but also of the justice she deserved in this world.
The horrifying details that emerged during the trial were beyond disturbing but heart-wrenchingly familiar, as they echoed a pattern of violence. John Anslow had already been convicted twice for the sickening crime of raping two young teenage girls at knifepoint. These convictions painted a clear picture of a repeat offender, a high-risk individual who should never have been allowed another chance to wreak havoc.
This plea is not just for Chereiss, but for every victim and every future victim whose life could be desecrated by predators if nothing changes. We need strong, unwavering laws that ensure convicted child rapists remain incarcerated permanently, shielding society from their dark proclivities and sparing others the immense pain we have endured.
The current system, which allows such individuals to be released, must be overhauled. Life sentences should mean life, with no parole and no possibility of reoffending. The safety of our communities should never be compromised, and our justice system's primary duty should be to protect, not gamble with our loved ones' lives.
The Prime Minister needs to hear our voices. We demand legislation that enforces life imprisonment for child rapists without parole or consideration for early release. It is imperative that decisive action is taken to prevent further atrocities and ensure our communities remain safe havens.
Please, join me in calling for change. Sign this petition to demand that the government establish laws to keep child rapists locked away for life, preventing them from destroying more families. Together, we can advocate for stronger protections and a justice system that truly serves justice for victims and society.
