Make interstate commerce for cannabis legal for medical patients

Make interstate commerce for cannabis legal for medical patients
The Issue
Our daughter was only two years old when she was diagnosed with leukemia. Shortly afterwards, she began experiencing debilitating seizures, casting a shadow over her childhood. From age 3 to 12, she fought tirelessly until one day, at age 12, she suffered a severe seizure leading to a concussion and required brain surgery. It was around this tumultuous time that we discovered the potential healing benefits of medical cannabis. After obtaining a medical cannabis license, she began using a patch composed of 70% CBD and 30% THC. Incredibly, she has been seizure-free for the last eight years.
This journey with medical cannabis has provided our daughter with a lifeline and dramatically improved her quality of life. Her ongoing success relies on a carefully balanced regimen, including a patch worn day and night. Unfortunately, the vendor supplying these critical patches recently moved their operations from Illinois to Missouri. Due to current laws banning interstate commerce of cannabis, accessing these essential patches has become increasingly difficult.
Interstate commerce should be legal for medical cannabis patients who depend on specific products for a better quality of life. While significant progress has been made, including the President signing an Executive Order to reschedule cannabis, it’s imperative to take further action. Rescheduling alone isn't enough. It’s crucial to create a legal pathway that allows medical patients across all states to access life-changing treatments.
We urge legislators and policymakers to address these challenges swiftly by making interstate commerce for cannabis legal. Every day of inaction hinders patients relying on medical cannabis for their well-being. Please sign this petition to support legalizing interstate cannabis. We need interstate commerce for medical patients and ensure they have consistent access to the treatments they desperately need. My daughter needs her medicine transported from Missouri to Illinois within weeks. We need THOUSANDS of signatures here.
