It's indeed a day for jubilation. Let's hope and pray that very soon our parliament and the parliamentarians of this nation unanimously amend the bill and make animal laws stronger. The voiceless of India are as much an integral part of India as are its citizens. They also have a right to food, water, compassion and above all safety of life.
Twenty dogs were poisoned to death in Hissar, Haryana (Pic in the post). Their only fault was that they tore off the net which was put around a poultry farm. It is suspected that out of anger the director of the farm poisoned the dogs.

A dog in Thane in Maharashtra was beaten up very badly and relocated to die on the streets but few kind hearted people took her to a shelter and the dog survived. Her rescuers consider it a miracle. When they found her she was profusely bleeding and could hardly breathe. Just watch the video to see her miraculous survival and the torture and pain which she was in when her rescuers found her.

A young female caregiver living in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh was verbally abused and insulted by her landlord when she objected to his cruel treatment to dogs. The man was beating the dogs with hockey sticks. He also asked the girl not to feed the dogs anywhere. Not even outside the compound of the house. To see the arrogant, abusive and shameless landlord kindly go on the link below:

Amending laws and making them stronger will definitely bring fear in people. They will think twice before harming any innocent animal. But what about the negative mind set of the people of India towards dogs? The myth attached with stray dogs that it is rabid and a bite or a scratch from him will lead to rabies?
What about the growing population of stray dogs especially in the urban areas which is only increasing day by day due to absence of ABC centers or due to shortages of them?
Majority of Indians know nothing about dog behaviour. The animal which is considered the man's best friend is unfortunately considered the man's worst enemy in India.
Unless every Indian is taught about dog behaviour, unless the myths attached with Indian dogs and rabies is removed and unless the ABC program is implemented in every city and town of India such cruelties against the man's best friend will keep happening.
