Various NGOs are coming forward and doing awareness campaign for our street animals. Recently such an awareness campaign was done by Foundation Prarambh Animal Welfare in Jamshedpur,
Peta India has put a huge hoarding (pic in the post) to adopt Indian dogs as pets in Delhi. It has been put at Minto Road, Connaught Place which is the one of the busiest and the most happening place in Delhi. This is indeed a wonderful intiative taken by Peta. Let's hope more and more people see it and get motivated to give home to our homeless streeties.
Wonder when will the Delhi Municipal Corporation put such hoardings? All they did was put misleading and obnoxious rabies awareness posters and that too for three successive years. The damage it did to both the dogs of Delhi and the caregivers was way too much.
If only our municipal corporations had done pro dog awareness then the situation of Indian dogs would not have been so bad.
And what about the awareness about the ABC program and the dog vaccination against rabies???? The responsibility of ABC is of the municipal corporation, so why haven't they done awareness about this most important thing?
All our municipal corporations did was to create awareness about dog biting humans and then vaccination of humans due to dog bite and that too in the most misleading and obnoxious manner. How did that solve the problem of dog population or eradicate canine rabies?????
If only our govt machinery was empathetic towards the Indian canines then their policies and their programs would have been directed towards the welfare of dogs and not vice versa. And this would have definitely made our society dog friendly.
The Delhi Govt and it's municipal corporations have unfortunately failed both the dogs of Delhi as well their caregivers.
