After receiving several complaints of an ABC unit running its operations in Malad, Mumbai the AWBI (Animal Welfare Board of India) has suspended it's recognition. This is indeed a good news. This definitely is a wonderful decision taken by the AWBI. Such killer centres have no right to operate. This is a lesson for all.the other ABC units which are operating in other parts of India and doing a shabby and hopeless job. To see the letter kindly go on the link below:

The MCD (Municipal Corporation of Delhi has still not mended it's ways. They are as always busy picking up the dogs of Delhi in the most unsystematic and random manner without informing the caregivers or anyone in the area. The caregivers feel lost and helpless when their furry friend just disappears. All they come to know is that a van came and picked up their friend. But which van came and to which ABC unit the dog has been taken they do not know. A message got viral today on all animal WhatsApp groups which said the following:

"These dogs are missing from paharganj ,some van came n pick them for sterilsation ..bt we have no idea that which centre's van picked them...pls help us to find our kids ...pls spread the word and pls help us to reunite our kid..
Contact 9582567595"

Two decades have passed ever since the ABC program started in the city of Delhi but the municipal corporation has till date neither been able to create enough awareness about the ABC program amongst the Delhites nor have they been able to rope in the caregivers in this program. There are ABC centres which have been designated areas but the common resident of Delhi is absolutely ignorant about it. They do not know which is the ABC centre which caters to sterilisation of dogs in their area.

Why is it that a van comes and picks up dogs randomly and then vanishes into thin air? Why don't they inform the residents and about the pick up of dogs from their area? Why can't days be fixed for pick ups so that the caregivers can help in getting the dogs of their area sterilised?

Why this secrecy in picking up dogs one just fails to understand.

Well if the pick up is done so secretly then the dropping too is done in a similar manner. And many times the dog is dropped at a wrong location. How terrible that can be the MCD just does not realize because it is not they who suffer. The sufferers of this most unsystematic method of pick up and drop mechanism are the dogs and the caregivers.

How many more years will the MCD waste in replacing this bizarre way of picking up and dropping the dogs by a more scientific and systematic way????
