A jeweller from Assam has poured acid on a mother dog while she was feeding her pups. The mother is out of danger although badly burnt (see the pic in the post). The culprit is a murderer who was out on bail. He has again been arrested. This incident is a proof that people with criminal minds indulge in animal cruelty. The message says that the Rohini MCD in North Delhi is picking up sterilized dogs from both Pitampura and Rohini area. When the men were told by the caregivers that they cannot pick up sterilized dogs the men told them that the dogs are being picked up for injections. Once they will be given injections the dogs would be released back. They also forcefully took away a lactating mother. Her pups were all left behind. According to caregivers the MCD is busy relocating dogs. They are releasing Rohini dogs in Pitampura and the dogs of Pitampura somewhere else. The dog catchers tell the caregivers that they come to catch the dogs after they receive complaints from the residents but inspite of asking the complainants name they do not disclose their identity. They just pick up dogs on the pretext of sterilization and take them to Rohini sector 27 ABC centre. Seldomly the dogs come back from the centre. The caregivers have been calling the MCD office but they are not getting any satisfactory answer. The numbers are given in the post above.

This is the most disturbing news. The MCD has been running the ABC program for almost two decades now but just see the way things are happening in the capital of India.
The sterilized dogs cannot be picked up as per dog rules 2001 but the MCD Rohini is doing it on the pretext of probably vaccinating them against rabies. But what's the need of catching them and taking them away? A vet or para vet could have accompanied the dog van and given the dogs rabies shot then and there itself. Why pick up dogs for injections???? This clearly tells us about their malicious intentions. They intend to just please the dog haters who are often influential people with political contacts and get the dogs relocated. If all that is mentioned in the post is true then the MCD North is committing a crime in the name of animal welfare. People who are picking up sterilized dogs, picking up lactating mother leaving her small pups behind to die in this cold winter and relocating dogs are actually criminals who need to be punished. They do not deserve to be working for MCD veterinary servives because what they are doing is not animal welfare.
This is called animal cruelty that too being done by the govt machinery.
