Noorie a 9 year old very friendly and docile dog was found bleeding to death in the city of Mumbai. On 22nd October she was raped and then an 11 inch wooden stick was inserted in her vagina. When her caregivers found her in this terrible condition they just couldn't believe their eyes. Just how can any man do this to an animal? That too to such an affectionate and loving dog. They quickly rushed her to the hospital where she was operated. It was quite a task for the surgeons to get the wooden stick out of her vagina. The Bombay Animal Rights have lodged an FIR against the perpetrators. For more details kindly go on the link below:

This petition is primarily for dogs but today I can't stop myself from writing that India is becoming unsafe for women as well. Every now and then there are cases being reported of females being sexually assaulted.
When will our ministers and chief ministers realize that criminal minds first abuse animals before abusing humans. The same men who are today physically abusing female dogs will tomorrow abuse women and young girls.
If only these men were told that torturing an animal is a crime and is a punishable offence then probably Tara and Noorie would not have met such an unfortunate fate.
The city of Mumbai houses the most influential people of India. Right from industrialist like Ambanis and Tatas to Bollywood actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan. If these people want they can definitely create a better world for these four legged beings. All that the people of India need is right kind of awareness. Awareness about dog rules, dog behaviour and the ABC programme.
The political will in India seems to be lacking in creating such awareness. Because the state goverments with their respective municipal corporations have failed terribly in creating this awareness. And the result is right in front of us.
Rape is a rape. Whether it be of a human or an animal. A state which cannot protect an animal will eventually fail to protect its people as well.
An RWA has come yet again with an obnoxious board. Right at the entrance of a park. The board says "Keep the park clean and do not pluck flowers and saplings. And requesting the dogs not to enter the park with their idiot owners" ( pic in the post). Below the board it's written RWA, Pocket B, Sector 8. Nothing can be more atrocious and insulting to a pet owner than what is written on this board. Such boards create negative mindset towards dogs and the people who take care of them. No wonder the caregivers are bullied and sometimes physically assualted for feeding the dogs.

The biggest mistake by many state govts have been to hand over the upkeep of parks to the RWAs. Ever since this has been done the man-dog and man-man conflict has risen. The self proclaimed owners of the parks the RWAs need to first clean their own minds which is full of venom and hatred for dogs and their owners.
Such negative and hostile attitude are the main reasons for so much cruelty towards dogs in India.
