On 25th May 2020 a Chinese national residing in greater Noida high rise was assaulted by a fellow resident for feeding a stray dog.
The Chinese national is a woman who works in an electrical company in Noida. On the morning when she was out for her walk a man who lives in the same society thrashed her with a hard wooden stick. Her fault was that she was feeding a stray dog who apparently fought with the pet dog of the man.
Now nothing can be more ridiculous and shameful than this. The woman tried to lodge an FIR at the local police station but as usual the police didn't file an FIR. This is nothing new in India.
The man is in his 50s and he snatched the stick from the guard on the gate of his apartment building and then ran after the lady and beat her with it. The woman sustained injuries on her private parts as well. The man running after the woman with a stick and then returning with it is all captured in the CCTV camera
The man committed three crimes,:
Beating a dog feeder
Beating a woman
Beating a foreign national
Yet the greater Noida police didn't find the case worthy of an FIR. Isn't that ridiculous? What kind of law and order prevails in the state of Uttar Pradesh? This is what is called lawlessness.
It was after the intervention of PFA Gautam Budh Nagar ( President Kaveri Rana) and the legal team of PFA ( Vishal Gautam PFA legal councillor) that an FIR has been lodged and the man has been arrested.
We are in the 21st century but it seems India is going backwards to the dark ages where neither women are safe nor animals. Both are beaten up and the police does nothing. Why are police stations there when the police has to take no action? Actions are taken only when the culprit is a common man. Culprits with political connections and having money power are seldom booked by the police. This is the sad reality of India.
